Kenyan talent: why hospitality and the technical trades are the focus
This piece contains no market statistics, because we will not quote a figure we have not sourced.
Afrika-Consult starts with two fields: hospitality, and the technical trades of electrical work and mechatronics. That is a choice of focus. It is not a claim about the size of a labour market.
In these jobs a role can be described plainly. The shift, the language in the team, the tools, the qualification. German B1 is the minimum, B2 is preferred. Anyone below that is not put forward. The conversation with the employer stays honest.
Health and care are not a focus. The WHO Code on the international recruitment of health personnel applies. Such roles are considered only on request, and only via licensed partners.
Placement itself runs in cooperation with licensed partners. In Kenya that means agencies registered with the National Employment Authority. In Austria that means licensed placement partners. Afrika-Consult does not itself place workers until the trade is registered.
Whether a Kenyan qualification must be formally recognised in Austria depends on the occupation. Many jobs do not need nostrification. Regulated professions do. The official information is not this website. One place to start is oesterreich.gv.at. We do not say a certificate is valid on its own.
What an employer gets is simple: a planned path, not a hope of a fast start. Typically 6–9 months. Housing and orientation are paid by the employer. Candidates never pay.
If that fits the role, send an enquiry or use WhatsApp.
